Small chipmunk rant omg-- don't read.

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 1, 2013, 7:56 AM

Okay so
we all know that they're a bunch of Chipette OC's running around. We all know a lot of them are completely Mary-Sues, being 'perfect' in every way possible by being extremely attractive, with a bunch of curves in the hips and overly-sized breasts, being extremely flirtatious, having a few (or way more) kids, having long blonde glossy hair, being 'sweet' and 'caring,' having a bunch of guys chasing her around-- yeah you get it.
Then.. we've got the people who call them sluts and whores. And before you know it, the creator gets all defensive and denies that their character isn't a slut.

A lot of people don't quite understand what the definition of slut and whore means. A slut is someone who wears showy clothing, flirts with everyone, is overly sexual, has a soda bottle or vase-like body shape, is a Mary-Sue, and sleeps with a ton of guys... at least this is what I've picked up over the last couple of years. If your character is living up to these facts, then I'm sorry to say that you're character is a slut, unless its just all a big showy act. If that's what's going around about your character, then you've honestly brought it onto yourself and you have to fix it. People judge off first impression, and if its not good, your character will be judged harshly in the fandom. They may not even look slutty- they just may have that personality.
YES people do spread rumors.
YES a lot of the times they are false.
BUT if it's clearly shown your character is sleezy, then you should be expecting people to say these kinds of things about your OC because you've asked for it.
Give your character a good reputation; one you'd want to have onto yourself. Don't give them a bad one.
They're reputation is yours and you need to respect that.

I have nothing against nudity pictures or sexual pictures-- its fine with me, as long as its marked with a warning or something., But if your character is dressed in like, stripper clothing then like... of course that's what's gonna go around.

It just gets old to see people complaining over things like this when people are stating the obvious- if you're character really isn't a slut, do something about it rather than making journals after journals complaining about how bad your reputation is getting and how your OC is or isn't a slut.
We're all responsible for our own reputation, and once we break it, we've got to fix it. Most of the time, its nobody else's fault but yours. So respect it, yourself, and your character.

///lol done
I prefer nobody to comment.. I just needed to get this out.
But if you'd like to have a friendly discussion with your own point-of-view, then I'll gladly converse.

    omfg Peopla have really taken the Chipmunk fandom way too far.
    The only reason why my characters have large breasts and strangely curvy body shapes is because that's just the way I draw females. Even if I try to draw small boobs, they come out extremely large sdsksfbs
    I just hate it.

Aaahhh I don't have anything against boobs or anything, since its just natural for girls, but it just kinda irks me when people make chipmunks have them especially large to the point they're like, tightly pressed and need to burst-- ew D;

Well, the slut definition is pretty alright. But a whore is usually referring to one who sells their body, I think??? Which, idk, maybe those sick chipmunk roleplayers do that too I don't even. Honestly, there are some that are okay to act in a flirty way, but they're CHIPMUNKS. If they act flirty it should be kind of cute. Not stripper clothing, let me force myself on you, flirting. If you're going to make a flirty chipmunk character, please, just make it a kind of cutesy one. Nobody wants to see a drawing of your chipette completely nude with some random person's character you probably just commented on their page saying "*Insert Chipette name here*: Hey wanna go out?" with like a kajillion babies.

1OO% agreed omg.

Haha, yes...there are quite a few good RPers out've just got to look real hard for them. I try to stay away from all those...others. All of these people who have slutty OCs are usually just trying to get attention, because they can't seem to get it anywhere else. :U I don't believe it's entirely their fault, though...a lot of people are influenced by the other people around them. I'm SURE that we've all seen sluts or whores walking around out in public...there are plenty at my school, I can tell you.

All of my female OCs are ones who are usually insecure..they don't like wearing slutty clothes. They prefer the baggy jeans and hoodies. They don't think they're beautiful. So, I don't have this problem. Well, maybe with Jordy a little...but she's not slutty.. e.e
coreooo Featured By Owner Feb 5, 2013  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Yeah, I see what you mean there.

It's fine to have beautiful characters, but I just find it disturbing when people make it seem like they have to wear certain clothing in order to be beautiful or wear make-up or any of that jazz-
Jordyyyyy Featured By Owner Feb 5, 2013  Student, if society were to change, all of the OCs would eventually change along with it.

I agree...none of mine wear makeup...mainly because I hate makeup. It's just...gross. And slutty clothes really aren't appealing on anyone... 8U

Yeah, change is nature. D;

I agree. That's why I don't ever put make-up or those clothes on any character EVER, just because I despise them myself.

Have to think about it maybe from their point of view actually.

One of the main reasons people like to imagine their characters like this is often from a lack of personal self confidence. It's an artistic wishful side of double-living. Since they can't or don't feel they are very attractive in real life, or have very withdrawn (shy) personalities, they try to make up for it in original characters. They put themselves in the shoes of their characters and dream that they themselves are perfect and have those attractive qualities.

People arm their characters with swords or guns of their taste and pretend that the skills they wish they had were in their use. Others are girls that think poorly of themselves and so either draw, write, or get others to draw pictures of characters they would prefer to live by. When they have a poor love life or few supportive close friends, OCs are a means of recreating those needs, which can lead to Mary-Sues hooking up with established canon characters they might feel attracted to within that universe.

As anything else, it's an attempted artistic expression of the mind. In all honesty at one point or another I think we've all been guilty of it.

Ahh, yeah I see where you're coming from.

very true this, I used to be in the chipmunk fandom, my OC's (Which yes i still currently have and own....never giving them up) where as original as i could get them, i worked on there biographys and history for a few years, i made it so they actually lived at one point by posting journals of daily interactions i would dream up. if they where real life beings they would be so normal you wouldn't know, atleast untill they started attacking you with glowing orbs of energy and swords and one had a mini 12 guage shotgun, i knew thats imposible so it shoots .22 x3

I think its people getting the wrong view, celebritys and all that. i don't really like the way society's going with regards to that.

My OC's are larger than life, but there personalitys are frightningly realistic Rhodas is somewhat leap before you look, milos a geeky little samurai with a gold heart but has been tempted by bad influeces. sierra would of been somewhat tomboyish....but she had a mini shotgun so she was cool xD

one other thing, my OC's are all between the ages of 16 - 21 so yeah.....weirdish

I'm sad that most of the Chipmunk role-players have over hundreds of OC's. And with that I mostly mean they just make them, and don't put time creating a cool, not done before, one. And that their OC's are just OC's.. 'Cause I love my OC's and want them to have relationships with characters of GOOD role-players, who will stay on the internet even if they don't role-play anymore.

And, I actually don't care if people make their OC's sluts. It can be exciting to RP, since those people have had a bad history.

Also, I think how you think that sluts are is false.
It has nothing, but really nothing to do with how people dress their selves or if they have curves. Cause Then I'd be a slut, My body is in the form of a cola bottle. And I hope you know I arn't.
So far I know, nobody actually has a right to be called a slut. If they have to sleep with people, it probably wasn't their own choice. Those poor little girls are having a really bad life.
On the other side, If they're just bitches too, and be like "Well, I don't care what you think" and such, you have the right to call them a slut 'cause they're acting like one then.
I hope I could've changed your mind on that bit, 'cause it's horrible to be called a slut when you have no choice than doing those things that you're doing. And that you're also being VERY mean to call people dressing a bit 'open' and that have some kind of body shape to call them a slut.

I respect your view 1OO%. c:
I don't all chipmunks with curves or even people with a curvy body are sluts- I basically mean all these qualities together can make a slut, suc as sleeping with many people, wearing very showy clothing, and just being described as all the things I've mentioned before. Low-cut tees or drewsses don't make someone a slut, it's just a little showy and attention worthy. From my point-of-view, a slut is someone who has all these things in one.. but I'm targeting at characters since.. they can easily change unlike people. Chipettes who get in everyone's pants, have a bunch of kids and I'm talking 5-10 all with different fathers, wear showy clothing-- all that together, that's what a slut is to me.
But again that's just me from what I've seen in real life.
My point is is that when people do have a character like this, they complain that their character is being called so, and many people don't have the heart to tell them the truth. But if that's what their seeing for their character to be then... eh okay. xD

I respect everyone's characters, don't get me wrong. It's horrible to be called a slut. But if that's what they're living up to be, something needs to be said. If I were being a slut and I had no idea.. I'd want someone to tell me. But everyone's different, lol.
I myself have a curvy body and I absolutely hate it- but that's just me. xD I'm not a slut, and neither are you.
I understand when it comes to people, as we can't change the way we look. But with characters, if its severely sleezy, something can be done whenever they wanted. But its up to them.

It's not so much I wanted to make a point but to get it out. xD I've had it in for like a year but I was scared to share my thoughts.

Thanks for sharing. ouo!
